Description
So many people go into relationships blind, partly due to being young or not having the experience to know whether it is a healthy relationship or an unhealthy one. This book introduces several issues to consider while providing advice and suggestions that will help lessen the chances of becoming a victim of heartbreak and divorce. It will offer tips on how to raise the success rate of your marriage and help you recognize the various pitfalls that are easily ignored because we get caught up in the moment. Most couples choose to marry because they love each other, and that is great. However, when love is not at its peak, you will need something more to hold on to. There will be good times and ugly times within a marriage, and it will take more than love to be able to weather the storms. It takes two people to make it work. Endurance is key! God intends marriage to be forever with one person. This book mentions certain dangers that we ignore because we are blinded by love. Marriage is a commitment, and once you’re in it, there should never be an opt-out clause. This is why it is so important to look beyond love and weigh everything before saying, “I Do.” Whom you marry will be one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime.
As a young woman who was blinded by love, I married for love and for love only. I never considered anything that I write about in this book other than love. But after nineteen years, I quickly learned. I made some mistakes, and we all will. There is no perfect marriage. However, the Bible states, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). Because of my trials, I hope to reach other women—and perhaps men—by educating them on things I never considered before saying, “I Do.”
